Sedgwick's Boutique is the passion of Sunshine Coast business woman, Nikki Miller. With a career in fashion, Nikki's love and appreciation of fabrics was ignited at 'The Job Warehouse' (pictured) at the top end of Bourke Street in Melbourne in the late 1970s, just a couple of doors away from Pellegrini's. As a sixteen year old, she would wander through the iconic fabric shop to find unique fabrics to create styles for her wardrobe. The Job warehouse was owned by two Polish brothers that survived the war on the run after their entire family perished "The shop was dusty and smelly and you did your best not to say to Jacob and Max "just looking" they didn't like browsers, they would yell "get out, get out, no browsing". You had to know what you were looking for. As a young teenager I found them scary although they were not much taller than me. They stocked the best quality and unique fabrics in Melbourne". Forty years later, Nikki's eye for fabric, craftsmanship and style is the driving force behind her unique boutique.
